A Film and Media Studies Student at UC Santa Barbara. Also an aspiring screenwriter/director.
I've always been interested in becoming a creator of some form of art. When I was little, I wanted to be an author. In middle school, I wanted to be a game designer. Now, I'm an aspiring screenwriter. I finally decided on film because I believe it is the happy medium of all mediums. It gives the creator as much possible control over what the audience is given without totally restricting the audience. Video games often give more choice to the player, whereas books are often too far into the mind of the author. Again, I like the happy medium.
I want to become a professional screenwriter and director. While I will likely have to work smaller jobs on set, or if I'm lucky, become a staff writer on a TV show, I eventually want to sell one of my screenplays and earn the right to direct it.
I am currently working on my first feature screenplay, A Sailor's Song. On top of that, I currently have three short films ideas that I am working on developing into short screenplays. I have also secured two internships, one at UCSB's Pollock THeater and one at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
A few of my favorite films of all time
A few of my professional skills.
I've always been very good at writing, doing well on written assignments in class as well as writing screenplays in my free time.
I understand technology very well. I built my own personal computer and understand many programs such as Word, Excel, Photoshop and Premiere.
Although my major and career have little overlap with map, I was always very proficient in it, scoring a 4 on the AP Calculus BC Exam as a junior in high school.
